Vijay’s father and the Producers’ Council chairman SA Chandrasekar has said that he wont participate in the one-day fast in support of Anna Hazare organized by the Producers’ Council.

He said that the fast should’ve been well-organized with the entire film fraternity taking part in it. According to SAC, the fast announced today is an outcome of some people with vested interest and hence not many in the film industry would be participating in it.

The director-producer feels that elaborate arrangements should have been made with the entire film industry joining hands for this fast. He therefore made it clear that he won’t participate in the fast to be held today.

R Parthiban is playing a dual role in Bharathiraja's 'Annakodiyum Kodi Veeranum', which is expected to go on floors by September. "It is a lifetime project and I am extremely happy to work with the Iyakkumar Imayam," he says.

Besides Parthiban, the film will have Priyamani, Parvathi Menon of 'Poo' fame, Meenal and a host of newfaces in pivotal roles. Remember Priyamani was introduced to Kollywood by Bharathiraja in 'Kangalal Kaidhu Sei'.

Adds Parthiban, who is a student of K Bhagyaraj, who in turn is a student of Bharathiraja, "I am thankful to Bharathiraja for choosing me for the project. He could have selected any leading hero for the character I am doing in this film."

'Annakodiym Kodi Veeranum', according to Bharathiraja, is his dream project and his challenge to young filmmakers. "I will prove myself once again with this film," he said earlier. G V Prakash Kumar is composing music.

Producers in Bollywood are interested in remaking the Tamil films which are hits. They are acquiring the rights of these films by paying whooping amounts. Now the Tamil films Kaavalan, Kaaka Kaaka, Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya, Santhosh Subramaniam and Subramaniapuram are being remade in Hindi. The Tamil film Kadhal is also likely to be remade in Hindi.

The film Kadhal which had Bharath and Sandhya in the lead role was a great success. Similarly the film Kaaka Kaaka which had Surya and Jyothika in the lead role was a great success. The film Kaavalan which had Vijay and Asin in the lead roles was released recently.

Now in the Hindi version Salman Khan is donning the role which Vijay did. The film Subramaniapuram directed by Sasikumar was also a great hit.

This film is also being remade in Hindi.Ko is the film which had Jeeva and Karthika in the lead roles. This film is still running in the theatres. This film is also being remade in Hindi. Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya is a film which had Simbhu and Trisha in the lead roles. Since this film was a hit, Gowtham Menon who directed the Tamil version is now remaking this film in Hindi.


Six of these films are expected to be released this year. Apart from these, films such as Kanchana. Naan Mahan Alla, Sami and Siruthai are also being remade in Hindi.

The shooting of the film Enakku Unnai Pidikum is taking place in Andipatti. S Gopi, Praveen Kumar and Yusuf are jointly producing this film under the banner Friends Films International. Important sequences are being shot at Andipatti.


New face Krishna is donning the lead role in this film. He who hails from Kerala has graduated from Film Institute. One of the producers of this film Gopi is directing this film. There are five heroines in this film including a heroine from Srivilliputhur.

At this point of time many of the girls fall for him because of his handsome look and seductive talks. One of the girls who come to know his real identity escapes from him. Another girl affected by him commits suicide. Another girl becomes insane. Finally the hero who is in habit of cheating the girls falls really in love with a widow.

The rest of the story is the climax. M G Kishore who hails from Kerala is a cinematographer who has 40 years experience. He has handled the camera for the films which has MGR, Shivaji Ganesan, Gemini Ganesan, Mammooty, Mohanlal, Prem Nazeer and other leading actors. He is handling the camera for this film Enakku Unnai Pidikum which as a story of different dimension.

‘I am still young girl and I want to think about marriage only after three years’ says Thamannah.

The actress was enjoying her interaction with public and media channels while she was present for the inauguration of a jewellery showroom in Vellore.

There are various reasons for romance to blossom. There should be a good understanding between the two. They should understand each other’s desires and thoughts. Then they will move intimately and fall in love.
As far as I am concerned I dont have time for love. Since I am busy in acting, I have no time to think of love. I will get married after I get a suitable understanding partner."

Trisha has agreed to pair with Vishal in a film to be directed by Thiru. Earlier Thiru was in search of a suitable heroine for this film. Vishal felt that Trisha would fit the role. Trisha who was impressed on hearing the story agreed to pair with Vishal.


Earlier Trisha was approached to pair with Vishal in the film Sathyam. Since she refused Nayanthara had paired with Vishal in that film. Similarly Trisha was also approached to pair with Vishal in Thoranai, Theeradha Vilayattu Pillai and Veddi. But Trisha who did not want to pair with Vishal had avoided these offers.

Now she has changed her mind and has agreed to act in this new film to be directed by Thiru. It is expected that Trisha will sign in the agreement this week.

In a very interesting development this evening, the rights for the Ajith starrer Mankatha have been bought by Studio Green. This comes as a surprise as there was no indication that such a move was being planned. The deal between Cloud Nine, the original producers of Mankatha, and Studio green seems to have happened within the span of a few hours. The reason behind this sudden decision by Cloud Nine Movies to sell the overall rights of their magnum opus to another production house is not yet clear.

What makes things more interesting however is that Studio Green, managed by Gnanavel Raja , is widely seen as the home production company of Suriya and Karthi. All the films produced and distributed by the firm till now have been either Suriya or Karthi starrers. Their decision to leave home turf and get into a big venture as Mankatha also comes as a big surprise.

One thing is certain; with the release of Mankatha under the Studio Green banner, the general impression of it being a Suriya-Karthi run enterprise will take a backseat and it might start to be seen as a production house which promotes quality entertainers. Latest news from the Mankatha camp is that all hands are on deck to ensure an August 31 release.

Soundarya Rajinikanth's long awaited Sultan The Warrior, which has Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead, is likely to grace theatres in January 2012. The film is part animation, part live and will probably be in 3D. The film, which was launched in January 2008, was delayed due to the animation works done at Soundarya's Ocher Studios. There are also reports that the team has currently shortlisted three Tamil names for the film and an official announcement is expected soon.

Sultan The Warrior is likely to be released in 18 languages, including English, Tamil, Hindi and Telugu. 95% of the film is complete. Music by Oscar winner A.R. Rahman is likely to hit the stands in the near future. Soundarya Rajinikanth has directed and produced this animated extravaganza.

Ajtih fans will be delighted to hear that the second female lead for Billa 2 has been confirmed.She is none other than Bruna Abdulla, an Indian model of Brazilian and Arabian origin. She was seen in I hate Love Stories with Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor and also did a sizzling item number for Anubav Sinha's Cash which got her noticed. After that she became a reality TV star with Khatron Ka Khiladi hosted by Akshay Kumar. Now her entry into Tamil cinema couldn't be bigger as she is Ajith's heroine.

The makers of Mankatha want to cash in on the long weekend on September 1st and release the film around that time. With just a few days left and the re-recording work still incomplete, three musicians have jumped the bandwagon to help Yuvan Shankar Raja, sources report.

Karthik Raja, Bhavatharani and Premji Amaren are all working together with Yuvan Shankar Raja to help him with the re-recording. This is perhaps the first time a film’s re-recording work is being handled by a team of four people and all of them belonging to the same family! Interestingly, the director of Mankatha, Venkat Prabhu also happens to be their cousin.

Vijay had arranged for a party to celebrate the completion of his portions in the Shankar directed Nanban. This party was held at a posh hotel in Chennai in which the entire crew members of Nanban participated.

And a surprise visitor at this party was Mankatha’s director Venkat Prabhu. Vijay was reported to have told Venkat that Mankatha’s trailer was so impressive and also put in a word to director Shankar to watch the film.

Venkat Prabhu and Shankar also discussed Vijay’s forthcoming release Velayutham during this event and all three were lavish in their praises for the other. There was huge expectation when Venkat arrived at the venue that Ajith would also grace the occasion as he is Vijay’s close friend. But the star could not make it as he was tied up in Billa 2 shooting.
